In the book of Acts chapter two we read of a pretty miraculous event.
Some believers are hanging out together in a room and the Holy Spirit shows up. Suddenly those that gathered are proclaiming the good news of Christ in all sorts of languages.
The Bible is quick to point out that Jews from every nation were in Jerusalem at the time and that they were startled and bewildered when they heard the gospel being preached in their native tongue.
Seriously, it’s amazing.
BUT…
There are always haters.
Verse 13 says, “Others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, ‘They’re just drunk, that’s all.’”
This just goes to show us, that even the most amazing miracles bring out the haters.
Jesus said that the poor with be with you always. I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say the same about haters.
BUT…
Who cares?
Did it minimize the miracle? No.
Were the haters right? No.
Did it stop the spread of Grace through Jesus? No.
In fact, the Bible said that 3,000 were saved and baptized that day.
Despite the haters.
I say, when the haters show up you’re on to something great. Imagine if the believers had listened to their critics and packed it up and left.
There’s always going to be haters… don’t let them ruin what God is doing in and through you.
