Warning: this may be THE GREATEST POST I’VE EVER WRITTEN!!!
I’ve joked about it, but it almost feels like it’s true. I’ve often said that I took a class in college called ‘Youth Ministry Hype 101.’
We can’t hype every event. Come on, get real for a second. Was that really the greatest _______ you’ve ever seen/heard/experienced? If every event is the greatest ever what happens when one flops?
It’s all good, promote your stuff, but be careful you don’t over sell / promise what you can’t deliver.

All that being said, I can’t wait for all the fun stuff that’s about to go down this week.
Tonight, our youth ministry kicks off our first ever church conference (Together West) with a service featuring guest speaker Pastor Elijah Waters.
I’m sure it will be a fantastic night. Full of fun and a few surprises.
Thursday, at 11:30 am, we’re hosting a Youth Pastors and Leaders Lunch with Pastor Elijah as well. This is a free lunch and all local youth pastors and leaders are welcome to attend.
This is the first time we’ve done it so… It will be the GREATEST Youth Pastor Lunch we’ve ever hosted, no matter how it turns out.
Thursday and Friday nights we will hear from two of my favorites people, Pastors Micahn and April Carter.
Saturday we’re having a leadership brunch. Our pastors, Brian and Shari Dolleman will be leading a discussion with Micahn and April Carter, and Israel and Rachel Campbell.
The theme is Success in Life, Love, and Leadership.
The conference extends into Sunday as well. Pastor Israel Campbell speaks at our 9:30, 11, and 5 pm services. His wife Rachel will help lead worship and lead a few songs too.
So yeah, it’s going to be THE BEST!!!
