Icing on the Cake

If you read my posts often or know me fairly well, one thing is probably clear to you: I love my job.

It’s a great job.

Leading people and telling them about God’s Grace is pretty amazing.

Sure there are rough days, but every job has those… I think.

I absolutely love what I do.

Every now and then I love my job just a bit more.

This week is a prime example.

This morning our youth ministry and leadership team are en route to Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, ID for our annual summer camp.

People ask me frequently as camp approaches, “Are you stressed?”

I smile and lie, “No, I’m excited.”

For the record it’s really not that much of a lie.

I mean sure, there is stress associated with camp, but overall this is the icing on the cake of an already sweet gig.

I love it.

God seems to do His best work when He has our full attention.

This week I’m ready to sit back and watch all that God wants to do.

Life can be tough, but I can’t play the victim card this week.

I’m going to be hanging out with family and friends all week at a resort watching students receive and grow in God’s grace.

To quote Will Ferrell, I am, “Living the dream.”
