Now is the Time to Be Generous
Generosity – it’s a word we all know, but the significance it can play in a person’s life may be immeasurable.
I know for certain, the generosity of others played a big role in making me the person I am today.
At a time in my life when I had lost nearly everything, it was through the generous acts of others that I was able to keep going.
When I had no home to call my own – a family opened theirs to me.
When I had no idea how to pay bills or balance a checkbook – family friends gave of their time to teach me.
When I needed advice for decisions I had no clue how to make – people were there.
When I needed to take a moment to breakdown and be nothing but a heartbroken teenager – I was never alone.
What amazes me the most is that these individuals saw I had a need – NOW – and acted.
They didn’t wait until everything fell into place or conditions seemed just right – I needed them NOW.
Because the generosity of others played such a big role in my life – the Lord has placed a desire on my heart to always do the same.
I am always on the lookout for ways I can be generous – whether it be with my money or my time.
It may be buying groceries for the PB&J summer outreach, stuffing backpacks for the big give or giving time to a friend in need.
I once read “You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.”
I want my life to be one filled with generosity.
When I see a need – I want to act NOW.
I want to model a life of giving for my children so they will learn to do the same.
I want to make a difference in the lives of others.

I was at church this last Sunday and listened to your sermon. It was amazing I love the way you give them because you bring your past or your family into it. It makes you and what you are saying so much more real if you understand what I am trying to say. I just wanted to tell you guys make it so I want to be there each Sunday. Thank you, always Nanci
Thanks Nanci. I love being part of NWLife. We’re doing our best to Love God, Love People & Love Life. I always try to include real life stuff because I’m working on my relationship with God too.
