Favorite Fall Flavors

Everyone knows (or should know by now) that women go crazy for pumpkin spice everything in the fall.

At last count my wife planted 37 pumpkin flavored things around our home.

Due to the pumpkin spice madness I am going to share with you five of my favorite fall flavors.

These all happen to be soups or stews so take that for what it’s worth. Fall and soup seem to go together well.

Hopefully they’re a touch more manly than pumpkin spice.

5. My Wife’s Homemade Chili

Something about this flavor says Autumn to me. I know chili is not an exclusive fall flavor, but it seems like we start making it when the weather changes.

4. Butternut Squash Soup

I’m not really sure how this one got passed my editor, but it’s true, I love this soup. It has a sweet, smooth taste that warms you up from the inside out.

3. Apple Crisp

Yeah, I know it’s not a soup, but go with me for a minute… When it’s served hot with vanilla ice cream, the crisp will melt the frozen treat just enough to create a sweet soupy goodness that is definitely a fall favorite.

2. Split Pea Soup

I love this soup especially when it borders on the line of stew consistency. Thick with pieces of ham, potato, and carrots. My mom and wife compete for split pea supremacy.

1. My Mom’s Beef Stew (Sorry Stacey)

There’s just something about the smell and the way the beef chunks melt in your mouth. It tastes like fall and home at the same time.

What are your favorite fall flavors?
