“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.” (Proverbs 24.16, NLT)
I’ve been thinking about this verse a lot lately.
The ability to get back up again is a very underrated leadership skill.
On our team we’re not looking for perfect leaders.
We’re looking for leaders who are willing to stand up again once they have failed.
I also really like the part of the verse where it says:
“…one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.”
Mistakes will be made.
But check this out:
“Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8.38-39, NLT)
He is with you.
He is for you.
He will help you stand again.
